"KONG: SKULL ISLAND" BRINGS EXPLOSIVE ACTION TO THE BIG SCREEN.

The imposing Skull Island poster that best depicts the action embedded in the movie

After watching War on the Planet of Apes, i was convinced i am not really a fan of animal movies. I had hurried to see that movie based on the outstanding first outing it made a few years ago. When i told a friend that i considered watching War on the Planet of Apes an absolute waste of my time, my friend asked me to make all efforts to see the 2017 remake of King Kong movie titled Skull Island.

Although i knew when the movie was released in early 2017, i never had any intention of watching it. I felt, just like the Tarzan series, no new thing can be added to spice up this Legendary Giant Ape story.

Samuel L. Jackson and his team of dare devil pilots before flying straight into the storm surrounding Skull Island.

I made out time to see the movie. As soon as Samuel L. Jackson stepped into the movie in Military Pilot's uniform i knew i was in for a blast. Every artist in that movie put up a performance that would glue all skeptics to their seats till the very explosive end of the movie.

Flying into the Tempest

The summary of the story is that Scientists, soldiers and adventurers unite to explore a mythical, uncharted island in the Pacific Ocean. Cut off from everything they know, they venture into the domain of the mighty Kong, igniting the ultimate battle between man and nature. As their mission of discovery soon becomes one of survival, they must fight to escape from a primal world where humanity does not belong.

Principal photography took place from October 2015 to March 2016 in Hawaii and various locations around Vietnam. Kong: Skull Island premiered on February 28, 2017, in London and was released in the United States on March 10, 2017, in 2D, 3D, IMAX 3D and in Dolby Cinemas. The film was a critical and commercial success, grossing over $566 million worldwide against its $185 million budget.

The movie has an attraction for people of all ages and taste for different movie types as there an element of the Jurassic Park type of pre-historic creatures other than Kong, there is a message for environmental protection and preservation, there are exciting tactical aerial battles and aviation stunts, there are boating scenes, there are Vietnam type Military maneuvers and there is a continuous thrilling suspense because you can never guess what happens next and who survives in the end.

After all said and done, Kong: Skull Island is the most explosive movie of the year 2017. Well, let's wait and see, just maybe we may yet be surprised with more blockbusters from Hollywood before the end of the year. Keep reading Leisure Quest and we promise to keep you informed.
